Introduction to DevOps
What is DevOps:
๐ DevOps is a revolutionary methodology where Software Development(Dev ๐จ๐ป) Team and Operations(Ops ๐จ๐ป) team work together in collaboration ๐ค
DevOps enables faster and more reliable delivery of high-quality software to end-users ๐
DevOps
We can understand DevOps with a real-life analogy. Let's relate Software Development to cooking a delicious meal ๐ฑ. Here we consider Developers as the Chefs ๐ฉ๐ณ in a five-star hotel who creates and prepare innovative recipe (i.e code) and Operations as the hotel staff ๐จ๐ณ who is responsible for serving the dish (i.e deploying and maintaining software).
DevOps acts like a perfect recipe that guides both teams, ensuring they follow the same instructions and create a consistent and delicious dish.
What is Automation, Scaling, and Infrastructure:
Automation ๐: Automation means to accelerate the tedious, manual task. DevOps Engineers use scripts and automation tools to automate manual and repetitive tasks. eg Dishwasher an Automation tool which automates the task of washing dishes with the hand, making dishwashing a quick task.
Scaling ๐: Scaling means ability to handle workloads when the demand increases such as Big billion-day sale of Amazon and when the demand of resources decreases, the resources are minimized
Infrastructure ๐ : Infrastructure in DevOps means that managing infrastructure with the help of code. Infrastructure must be robust and carefully designed to support the software applications effectively.
Why is DevOps Important?
It maximizes efficiency with automation
Shorter development cycles and faster innovation.
Reduce implementation failure, and recovery time.
Better communication and collaboration.
Scalability and agility.
